Choosing the address, what makes one available, and why it can only be edited while the event is a draft.
You can change your event address as often as you like while it is a draft, and not at all after you publish.
Every event is born with one: a short random code from an alphabet with the confusable characters removed, so nobody reads a zero as an O over the phone. Replace it with your own if you want.

Three to thirty characters, letters, digits and hyphens.

Availability is case-insensitive, so no capitalisation of a taken address is free.

A handful of words are reserved because they are already routes on the domain.

It freezes at publish on purpose. That is the moment the link starts travelling into messages, stories and posters somebody already printed, and an address that changes under those is a broken link. Pick it before you publish.
