1. Introduction

Welcome to Ritmus ("we", "our", or "us"). We operate a live event engagement platform that lets organizers synchronize visuals, polls, and interactive content across attendees' phone screens in real time. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ritmus is the Data Controller of your personal data. Our processing is conducted in strict compliance with the GDPR and other applicable European Union data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data about you:

Account & Billing

Name, email address, username, profile photo, and the billing address you provide when you create an account or purchase a paid plan.

Event Content

Events you create, venue locations, and the media (images and video) you or your attendees upload to display during an event.

Attendee & Device Data

When you join a live event we generate a device identifier and a per-event ID to manage capacity, plus technical metadata such as platform, browser, screen size, network type, language, and connection latency. With your permission, approximate location is used for geofenced events.

Automatically Collected Data

IP address, approximate location, device type, browser settings, operating system, and details about how you interact with our platform.

3. How We Use Information

We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: To operate your events, manage your account, process subscriptions and credit purchases, and deliver the live experience to attendees.
  • Legitimate Interests: To improve our platform services, enhance site security, prevent abuse, and optimize performance.
  • Consent: For analytics and marketing communication where you have explicitly opted-in (such as Google/Firebase Analytics).
  • Legal Obligation: To comply with tax, invoicing, and regulatory reporting requirements.

We share data only with trusted processors who help us run the service: Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, analytics and push notifications), Dodo Payments (billing), Resend (transactional email), Ably (real-time messaging), FingerprintJS (device identification for capacity and abuse prevention), and Google Maps (venue display). Some of these providers are based outside the EU; where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your personal data.

4. Your GDPR Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of Access & Portability

You can request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used format.

Right to Rectification & Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")

You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate data or the deletion of your account and related data.

You can object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests or request us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us directly at support@ritmus.live. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
